Downton Abbey and Scandal – Two TV Shows that are a Must-See

I love period pieces and I love dramas.  So maybe that’s why I love Downton Abbey and Scandal.  For those who have not been bitten by either of these bugs, do yourself a favor and catch up on past episodes.  They are easy to download for a limited time off their respective websites.

downtonabbey2Downton Abbey is set in the early 20th century in a fictional Yorkshire country estate.  It follows the changes of the aristocratic family named Crawley.  There are murders, love affairs, wars, fights and all sorts of mayhem.  The first episode of season three aired a couple of weeks ago for the U.S.  So delish!

ScandalAnd what can I not say about Scandal?  I know what I want to say, need to say and just have been waiting to say – executive producer Shonda Rhimes and her team of writers have brought the fire to ABC baby!!  Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) just make the screen melt every time I see them together.

Even at the open of the first season, we are plopped down in the middle of their relationship and political goings-on.  But flashbacks are carefully placed to fill in the blanks and spice up the story lines.  Thursday night’s episode was not-to-be-missed.  But if so happen you did, don’t fret.  Go to and check it out.
